Chapman back; Negron sent down

With closer Aroldis Chapman back from paternity leave before Thursday’s series finale vs. the Pirates, the Reds cleared a roster spot by optioning utility player Kristopher Negron to Triple-A Louisville.

Negron, who had a strong Spring Training, was batting .141 with no home runs and two RBIs in 42 games during the regular season. He made 20 starts – at least one at every position except pitcher and catcher.

But playing time had been particularly sparse lately for Negron, who lasted started on June 16 when he appeared at shortstop vs. Detroit.

Reds get Chapman back from leave and Negron goes to Louisville how about a trade where Chapman goes to and the Reds get an infielder and outfielder who have talent?

I’m a Negron fan. But he had to go. Hope he figures it out and starts hitting like he did last year and in spring training.

Amen, Great hustle, attitude and defense. Offense fell off to nothing this yr. ??? He has to figure it out. Otherwise, he’s no help to the Reds.

Let’s be serious…he was nothing more than a fill in; nothing more, nothing less.

Actually, every minute, sufficient power arrives at the Planet to satisfy our demands
for a whole year – if only we could harness it correctly.
