Ondrusek headed to Japan

First Jack Hannahan signed to go to South Korea last week and now it appears another Reds free agent is headed to Japan.

Reliever Logan Ondrusek signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Yakult Swallows, the Japan Times reported on Friday.

Ondrusek was non-tendered by the Reds last month.

I wish him well, but his fastball was too straight for major league hitters…..sorry to be negative about him, but this may be addition by subtraction for the Reds. I look for a division title this season as the core players have healthy bounce back years and Hamilton improves his on base percentage.

Article on MLBTR indicated Ondrusek would be vying for closer role. One way or the other his teams opponents should hit more HR’s than they used to. Still can’t beleive the Reds didn’t trade him when they had the chance to get something in return.

I to wish Logan all the best. The fact of the matter is he was not getting batters out in clutch situations and when that happens we’ll this happens. Hopefully this Reds team plays hard all year with healthy players and we can hope for post season play again.

I echo an amen to the above three comments.
