Axelrod 1

Actually, I don’t think that any of us should be very surprised. Whenever Cueto pitches, Price employs two strategies: 1) he catches Pena, and 2) he rests players he wouldn’t rest with any other SP. Why, it’s Cueto!

What a crazy year! Game cancelled by a water main break. Now a double header tomorrow and get in very late to St. Louis Sunday night/Monday morning.

Keep asking myself what else could go wrong, but evidently there are lots of things that can go wrong that you wouldn’t think about. Reds will be tired for Monday.

I am a fan of Price, but when his closer comes in with a non-closer situation and he starts off with (2) straight walks, why wouldn’t someone get up in the bullpen and start throwing. The 3rd batter has ball 2 and JJ gets up and starts warming up. It was ball 3 & 4 and bases were loaded. So….lets see what the 4th batter will do. Ball 1,2,3,& 4. One runner scores. Then relief comes out of the bullpen in the form of “JJ”. Oh no, not JJ! Well….he fooled us, getting (2) quick fly balls and a sac fly, walking the bases full again and facing Stubbs who only hit around .220 for the Reds. Maybe he can hold Stubbs to a single. Stubbs selected the deepest part of the field to hit his “Grand Slam”. I do wish Price would stop acting on his emotions and take a little time and read the stats on JJ. It’s not too pretty.
