A new one for me
I’ve covered baseball for 14 seasons and just when you think you’ve seen almost everything, something new goes down.
On Saturday, the start of the Reds-Rockies game was delayed because of a water main break outside of Coors Field. I’ve seen weather delays, power failure delays and injury delays. Water main break? That qualifies as different. Plumbing inside the park wasn’t working while crews fixed the issue outside.
I grabbed a picture but I guess it was after things quieted down outside.
UPDATE: The game was postponed. It will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday.
Game 1 starts at 4:10 p.m. ET
Game 2 slated for 9:10 p.m. ET.
That is not optimal on a travel day for the Reds, who play in St. Louis on Monday.
