Why does Mesoraco always get benched the day after hitting the ball well

He is playing.

Yeah I said that when the original lineup showed Pena

The Reds lead all of MLB in fielding, with a .989 FPCT. Here is the list of the top three teams in the NL:
Reds…35 E….989 FPCT
Cards…42 E….987 FPCT
Phillies…46 E….986 FPCT
The Reds are extremely strong defensively where it counts; up the middle…
Mesoraco….992
Phillips….997
Cozart….986
Hamilton….994

Billy Hamilton is playing remarkable baseball…ROY?; I think so…
He hit his 5th home run Friday night. He is on pace for 32 doubles, 6 triples, 10 homer and 48 extra-base hits. His slugging percentage is .408.
Here is a list of some players he has a higher slugging percentage than this year:
Jayson Werth, Shin-Soo Choo, Chris Davis (53 HR ’13), Ryan Howard, David Wright, Jay Bruce, Brandon Phillips, Mark Reynolds, Matt Holliday, Jason Heyward.

Also, Hamilton is now only 6 SB behind Dodgers’ Dee Gordon, who leads NL with 41.

Actually, now that I see Dee Gordon’s numbers, Hamilton has a bit of a hill to climb.
Gordon……. .299/.354/.415/.768…2 HR, 25 RBI, 49 R, 41 SB, 9 CS…..2.2 WAR
Hamilton….. .279/.309/.408/.717…5 HR, 30 RBI, 41 R, 35 SB, 12 CS…2.2 WAR
If the season ended today, I think Hamilton may well end up on the short stick;
luckily he has another 1/2 season to improve on his numbers.

Gordon isn’t a rookie

Just saw that. Sorry about that; why I thought he was is probably because of their base stealing fight this season.

Top WAR (wins above replacement) numbers so far this season:
Frazier…3.5
Mesoraco…2.9
Hamilton…2.2
Votto…2.0
Cozart…1.5
Phillips…1.0
Heisey…0.8
Santiago…0.3

Good to see the same lineup as last night, just a shame our bench is so depleted and some relief pitchers if they have value in minors working on their game. I hate the cards but they demote non producers and make them work. Example Wong.
