Monday’s game PPD

Monday’s series opener between the Reds and Cubs was postponed because persistent showers at Great American Ball Park.

No makeup date was immediately announced, but it’s not expected to be played this week.

Alfredo Simon was scheduled to pitch for the Reds against the Cubs’ Jeff Samardzija. Both clubs are scheduling their Monday starters to pitch on Tuesday.

“As it stands right now, we’ll stay in order,” Reds manager Bryan Price. “I don’t see where it would change. We’re playing 17 straight so it gives us chance for all of these guys to get an extra day of rest.”

The decision to call the game came following a 57-minute delay once the forecast appeared to be grim for the remainder of the evening.

Recently viewed a CVD of the Dodgers’ championship teams. The work of Tommy Lasorda with his drive, enthusiasm, pep, and stirring up his players clearly showed what that kind of leadership can do. That’s what the Reds need so badly. They have been lethargic for so long that it seems to be built in to the club’s psychic. Somebody—manager, player, coach needs to step up and be a cheerleader and pusher. There is too much talent there to waste. Go Reds!!

Lasorda was one of a kind; Umpires were intimidated by him, fans loved him and celebrities wanted to be around him, always eating pasta-pasta-pasta. I watched him his entire career with the Dodgers, and from the first game he managed, it was obvious that this guy could motivate in spades. Have to agree, we need some fire n’
ice in the dugout; with the talent we have today somebody needs to keep them focused and mindful of what is front of them. The hitting continues it’s swing-from-the-heels, ignore the situation, attitude. On the brighter side, of the regulars, Votto, Ludwick and Mesoraco appear to be on track. Injuries are mounting.
