Latos still has soreness

Reds pitcher Mat Latos threw in a bullpen session and returned to the clubhouse none too pleased. It was not a successful session as it turned out because there some soreness in his right elbow.

“He didn’t feel as good as we hoped he would feel,” Reds manager Bryan Price said. “We’ll see how he is tomorrow. We hoped he wouldn’t have any soreness at all. We will give him a couple of more days and reassess.”

Latos, who will get looked at again by team medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek, was scratched Tuesday from a rehab assignment start for Triple-A Louisville because of some soreness in the elbow. He was given a couple of days off from throwing.

I’m afraid this is heading to Tommy John surgery. I hope not but it doesn’t sound good at all.

Yup my thoughts exactly. We wont see this guy pitch again for the reds since his contract expires i think at the end of the year. Even if he was signed through 2015 it wouldnt matter….. Hopefully Simon can hold the fort down until we see either a miracle recovery or Stephenson is ready

this post says, Latos will b re-examined by Dr. Kremcheck……that says it all. Name me a player he has worked on who actually recovered and did not have setback after setback??????????? Votto, Massett, Cueto, and the list could go on and on. A few players wont let this clown touch them. Phillips for example went to see a doctor for his wrist, and it got fixed. If Dr. K had done something to it, he would be on the bench too. Please Mat Latos, do yourself a huge huge favor and get on a plane and ask doctor Andrews to look at your arm, forget the Reds, it will be the best thing you could od for your career, if you let Kremcheck cut into you again the chances your career is over or takes a major setback are very high, just look at the history of this team and medical issues that time after time do not heal and as soon as a player comes back he is hurt again!
