Man – did you see that? Lead off triple by Billee and still can’t get him in. Can we see now, Price, need more patient hitter right after him? Namely Votto 2nd. The dynamics of this line up ain’t working! Like BP but that is not the spot for him.

Preach it, River!!!

Yeah – s.o.p. lineup: it’s an excitement killer. If you can’t capitalize on the excitement factor that Billy has – you are blowing a key potential.

BP use to be good with 2 strikes on him but anymore they just throw a curve ball in the dirt to get him out.

The Cincinnati Reds have not “manufactured” R or RBI for a few seasons now…
yet, there is a glimmer of light as they have done so today in the top of the 5th,
as follows:
Cincinnati – Top of 5th SCORE
B Hamilton singled to left center. 2 0
B Hamilton stole second. 2 0
B Phillips flied out to right, B Hamilton to third. 2 0
J Votto walked. 2 0
J Bruce hit sacrifice fly to right, B Hamilton scored, J Votto to second. 3 0
T Frazier popped out to shortstop.
Should the Reds learn that they will not reach the playoffs by hitting
HRs (12 of first 14 RBI), they may well learn to play as a team and
surprise us all; nobody more than me.

Gotta give credit where credit is due; now where is it due?
Seems to me that 4 Reds played out of their cleats…
1) Leake – 8 IP and 4 H
2) Hamilton – 3/4 w/ 2 SB, 2 RS, 0 SO (has to be a huge morale builder)
3) Heisey – 2/4 (he needs to be played; period)
4) Mesoraco – 2/4, 2 RBI, handled Leake perfectly (I for one suggest this is a
do or die season)
A seldom played game by the Reds…need several more like this and I
am not talking about a SO performance; more importantly, imo, is and has
been the situational hitting; just like it has been for 3 years now!

With both Hamilton (at least for one game) and Ludwick hitting, where do you propose Heisey play regularly? He is what he is: a fill-in outfielder and a bench player with some pop. That’s all he is and will ever be.

LF. With Ludwick signed through 2014, I imagine that Price will continue platooning him the remainder of this season. Next season he will be the Red’s LF fulltime. He would be a huge upgrade defensively and on base pads over Ludwick, as well as many others that may be available. And, I don’t see the Reds signing Ludwick beyond the current contract, regardless what he does this season (36 in July). I also don’t see the Reds signing a FA for LF as was the plan prior to spring training.

One last note, and I think any baseball person will attest…
the actual video of Hamilton running today was unbelievable.
Go to whatever site you need to in order to see this guy today;
absolutely stunning. He literally insults all outfielders in play.
Amazing, to say the least!
