Off day; No workout for Reds

This is the one day of Spring Training when the big league side of Reds Spring Training is mostly idle. The team has its one scheduled off day so there will be no on-field news today. Things resume on Wednesday evening with a 9:05 p.m. ET game vs. the Royals at Surprise.

Here is some Opening Day news in the meantime:

Before the Reds host the Cardinals at 4:10 p.m. ET on March 31, Reds shortstop greats Davey Concepcion and Barry Larkin will throw ceremonial first pitches simultaneously.

Both players will be pulling double duty of sorts on Opening Day. Concepcion was already named last month as the grand marshal of the 95th Findlay Market Opening Day Parade. Larkin will be performing his regular job as an ESPN analyst on Baseball Tonight, which is basing its pregame show live on Crosley Terrace outside of Great American Ball Park.
