Riggleman back with Louisville

Good frigid Monday folks…

Some news items for you today:

*Triple-A Louisville announced that Jim Riggleman would be back to manage the Reds’ affiliate in 2014. Riggleman was the only other known candidate besides Bryan Price for the big league skipper vacancy in Cincinnati. This will be his third season in the Reds organization and second with Louisville. Also back with the Bats are pitching coach Ted Power (ninth season) and hitting coach Tony Jaramillo (second season).

*At Class A Dayton, Jose Nieves is back as manager for a second season. Tony Fossas returns to be the pitching coach for the fifth year and Luis Bolivar is the new hitting coach. Bolivaar was the hitting coach at the AZL Reds last season.

Sadly, I think the culture in the Red’s minor league system should be changed based on mere achievements; most importantly, offensive baseball.
