Going home…

Hello from Pittsburgh International Airport, where instead of waiting for a flight to St. Louis, I’m nearing a departure to CVG.

I hope you read the coverage of the Wild Card game on MLB.com/Reds.com so I’m not going to repeat anything here.

On the main site, there will be a wrap up of the season in the coming days and an outlook towards 2014. Here on the blog, and on Reds.com, things will quickly shift to offseason mode. So keep on coming back please for the latest hot stove news and information.

In the meantime, thank you again for continuing to visit and read this blog. Thank you also to the regular commenters, like Curt, Neb, maxblue and others for keeping he conversation going and for keeping it civil.

Until next time, take it easy…

Thanks! And remember for every one that thanks you there is probably another 100 that is quietly thinking it!

Thursday a.m.: tough couple of days for Ohio baseball. My son bet me a chocolate milkshake Dusty would not open next Spring Training as the Reds manager. I told him I could already taste it.

I’m thinking your son is right. The season flew by so fast. Have a good off season and here’s to hoping next year the Reds can get over the hump and not only make the playoffs but advance!

Well, Mitch, the fact is the only way that will happen is if there is a change at the manager position, and it probably wont. So, we can expect another disappointment come October….You guys have a great offseason..

Does anyone else think that Baker is gone?I do.I also think Girardi will be contacted and who knows.Rebuild with Yanks or Cubs,or take the reins of a ready made team.
Not outrageous.
