Game 108: at SD

Reds lineup vs. Padres

Robinson 8
Choo 7
Votto 3
Phillips 4
Bruce 9
Frazier 5
Cozart 6
Mesoraco 2
Latos 1

*Remember the play on Thursday where Joey Votto hit a single and Shin-Soo Choo was tagged out trying to run back to first base? Well, it cost Votto his single. There has been a scoring change. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Votto’s single has been changed to a fielder’s choice “pursuant to Rules 7.08(3) and 10.05(b)(1)…in summary, although Choo reached second safely on Votto’s single, when he attempted to return to first base the force play at second was reinstated and Choo thus was put out by a fielder’s choice 8-6.”

*Since May 15, Mike Leake has the Major League’s lowest ERA at 1.82 (minimum 14 starts).

*Ryan Ludwick was 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI on Monday for Triple-A Louisville in latest rehab assignment game. Ludwick is 2-for-12 in five rehab games for Louisville and Class A Dayton.

Come on…Cozart need “basic training”. He just got doubled off 2nd base on a line drive no more than 20′ to SS in front of him. Unbelievable…and this isn’t the first time he has made such a rookie mistake. Thank god he has a good glove; although his arm is starting to give up bases.

Cardinals lose 6 in a row and the Reds are in the process of losing 5 in a row. Seriously unreal. Minor league hitting instructors NEED to be FIRED immediately after the season. Save the Jacoby banter, if a player is not taught in low A, high A, AA, AAA then why should the player learn at the pro level. To be a pull hitter is an advanced technique. Why are the Reds not teaching hitting to the opposite field? If they are, it is not working. New attitudes need to be stressed ACROSS the board when it comes to hitting and I mean from the absolute bottom to the absolute highest position. Just pathetic Castellini, just pathetic.

I agree 100% Well put !!!!!!!
