Choo has sprained ankle

Reds CF Shin-Soo Choo is out of the lineup today because of a sprained left ankle.

Choo pinch hit in the eighth inning of Sunday’s loss to the Dodgers, was hit by a pitch and stole second base. He jammed his ankle with a late slide.

“It’s not that bad,” Choo said. “I talked to Dusty. We didn’t want to make it worse.”

Choo was going to get taped up and hoped to be available to pinch-hit vs. San Diego tonight.

Aha! Thanks Mark. Now we know.

Take a look at the Reds remaining schedule and it really looks favorable. Road Games…25 left. Of the teams playing .500 plus ball they only have 6 games..(3) w/Pirates & (3) w/Cards. Other games…Cubs (3), Brewers (7), Astros (3), Padres (3), Rockies (3). Outside of Cards & Pirates that’s a pretty soft road schedule. Games won in the Division…a (3) way tie…Reds, Cards, Pirates
And now…w/ home games the Reds have won 65% of their games…Reds & Cards are 32-17 and Pirates are 32 – 18.
W/ .500 plus teams the Reds have 19 games…Cards (7), Pirates (3), D’Backs (4), Dodgers (3), A’s (2).
With a minus .500 winning percentage… (12) games…Padres (3), Mets (3), Cubs (3), Brewers (3).
This remaining schedule looks very favorable for the Reds. Let’s not forget that probably in the next 10 days to 2 weeks 5 players could return from injuries…Cueto, Broxton, Marshall, Hanigan, and Ludwick. The Reds don’t need a “Rental Player”.
Knowing all of this, there is no doubt the Reds will make the playoffs. It wouldn’t surprise me if they win the Division.
