Rotation; doubleheader at SF

The Reds released their rotation order coming out of the All-Star break. It is as follows:

Fri vs Pit: RHP Mike Leake (8-4, 2.69) vs LHP Francisco Liriano (9-3, 2.00) 7:10 p.m. ET
Sat vs Pit: RHP Mat Latos (8-3, 3.53) vs RHP A.J. Burnett (4-6, 3.06) 4:05 p.m. ET
Sun vs Pit: RHP Homer Bailey (5-8, 3.82) vs LHP Jeff Locke (8-2, 2.15) 1:10 p.m. ET
Mon at SF: RHP Bronson Arroyo (8-7, 3.42) vs TBA 10:15 p.m. ET
Tue at SF: LHP Tony Cingrani (3-1, 3.23) vs TBA 7:05 p.m. ET
TBA vs. TBA
Wed at SF: RHP Mike Leake vs TBA 10:15 p.m. ET

Why is there TBA vs. TBA on Tuesday? It appears that there will be a 7:05 p.m. ET doubleheader played at San Francisco to make up the July 4 rainout the Reds and Giants had at GABP. For one of those games, the Reds will get to be the “home” team.

There are currently no details available yet to provide on ticketing or refund information from the rainout. When I know something, I will pass it on.

If the REDS are going to win the division a few things must happen

LF that can hit for power
Sign Jair Jurgens for relief
Look at TX OTT for 3rd base and move him to LF ( trade pitching )

Are you saying move Frazier to left?

I knew Mike Leake has had success with pittsburgh but # 1 starter?? Wow!

Basically staying with same rotation but moving Bailey up due to hi track record .vs. Pirates

From MLB.com:
“I’m not happy with where my average is this year, but I think I’m making progress, adjusting to the Triple-A pitching,” he said. “Guys are pitching different; guys are throwing 3-2 changeups and sliders, so you know you’re moving up. I’ve adjusted to it, I think.”

2013 AAA
83 games, .243-.300-.331-.631, 52 SB, 73 K, 28 BB, 4 errors
vs RHP .249-.328-.326-.654, 43 K in 221 AB, 26 BB
vs LHP .231-.242-.342-.584, 30 K in 117 AB, 2 BB

Sorry about that…Hamilton’s comments and stats.

Will Hamilton be a Red three weeks from now? I have my doubts.
Curt

I agree. Hamilton continues to need work and I don’t think he would get much by coming
up. Especially when we have so many OFs. Better to leave him in AAA to work on his hitting on a daily basis.

Sorry, I meant he might not be in the Cincy organization.

Oh wow…dunno. If we trade for a CF and move Choo to LF, there wouldn’t be a need for him would there be; he’d be bait wouldn’t he? Nice to have Jocketty making the decisions; he has done very well over the last few years. One other thought…I am so impressed with Robinson that I wonder if he could play CF next season. I know the Reds are really high on this rook. In that way, we don’t break the bank trying to go after Choo, but instead trade for a clean up hitter/LF. Or, is Jocketty sold on bringing back Ludwick for this season and next? Lot’s of shuffling. Good news is that the bullpen is pitching lights out and I don’t believe we are considering trying to beef it up; instead, Marshall and Broxton are on the mend and one is returning pretty soon (Marshall).

Hamilton would be better than Cozart. Let him play his natural position .I know he would be better at the plate. Can’t do any worse .

Ya you’re right, he couldn’t be as bad as Frazier.

I would love to get a CF and either trade Hamilton or put him back at SS. But the market seems way to high for a CF with not a lot of great prospects… I really dont see a player out there worth giving up Hamilton though I think trading would be a smart choice given his high value.

I remain unconvinced that Robinson couldn’t play CF and lead off next season.
