Game 59: vs. Col

Reds lineup vs. Rockies

Choo 8
Cozart 6
Votto 3
Bruce 9
Frazier 5
Lutz 7
Hanigan 2
Izturis 4
Bailey 1

Jeremy Warnemuende

Izturis might not be able to knock the lint off his uniform, but the guy can leather; that’s obviously why the Red’s picked him up. A superior fielder that just happens to hit .150. With all the other Red players batting so well, this is the position that can bat below .200. Again, that awesome glove is what we cannot sacrifice; superior strength up the middle, from C to 2B to SS to CF; most important. We be look’n good tonight after Bailey got off the snide in that early inning; good job overall. Now, on to the BP.

OK…4th game we have blown from the bullpen. Sad but true. What can we say?
It’s over and done. Guess we move on, hopefully. Geez, these games hurt.

Looks as if the eighth inning, no matter who happens to be on the mound, is becoming the Reds’ Bermuda Triangle of 2013: Where sure wins manage to get lost, never to be found again!

Deja vu all over again.

I am not saying that Hoover is the answer… But if you are not going to throw chapman in that situation, up one, one on, and one of the best hitters in baseball at the plate then Hoover maybe the only answer. I just think that was a bad matchup last night. We needed power for power and the Reds only have two power arms in their bullpen. No one pitcher should own an inning. Dusty loves to play matchups so start doing it. Bring in the guy that matches up best for the hitter at the plate.
