Game 8: at STL

Reds lineup vs. Cardinals

Choo 8
Cozart 6
Votto 3
Phillips 4
Bruce 9
Frazier 5
Robinson 7
Hanigan 2
Arroyo 1

*This will be Derrick Robinson’s first big league starting lineup appearance.

*The Elias Sports Bureau provided this nugget today:

The Reds scored nine runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 4-4 tie, pinning a 13-4 loss on the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. Cincinnati became only the fifth team in major-league history to score nine or more runs in the ninth inning in a game that was tied entering that frame. The others were the 2002 Mets (at Atlanta), 2001 Tigers (at Texas), 1950 Braves (at Pittsburgh) and 1939 Indians (at Philadelphia).

It’s been a long time (if ever) the Reds have put together a lineup of (4) left-lrights and have (2)) left-rights left on the bench.

it’s time for dusty to go, can’t believe they gave him a new contract. they need to bring up the triple a coach, someone who can inspire these players and definitely need a hitting coach also! these guys are just going through the motions, not all of them, but the younger ones. they need some gamers who can get a hit when you need it, not when your 5 runs up. as for as hanigan is concerned he needs to bulk up or get stronger so he can get around on a pitch over 85 mph. someone out to teach messaroco how to call a game and the mechanics of catching like johnny bench! it’s time for new leadership to get this team out its rut and start playing up to there capabilities! thanks gom reds!
