Cooperstown bound…

I won’t be at Great American Ball Park for the Reds-Brewers this weekend. No, it’s not more time off (that will happen during the Houston series)…instead I will have the pleasure and privilege to cover my first Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cooperstown, N.Y. for Barry Larkin.

There will be a couple of days worth of events, namely the induction ceremony at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. You can watch it live on MLB Network. Of course, will have complete coverage.

During the weekend, I will try to post some extra stuff here on the blog, especially pictures, if I am able to. I haven’t been to Cooperstown since I was a teenager, so this will be a very new experience in many ways for me too.

I will get there tonight and hope to have updates going by Saturday. Please check in. Of course, full coverage of the Reds-Brewers series will be on and

Looking forward to the coverage, Mark. If only we had the MLB Network in Canada…

Congratulations Barry. You will forever be my favorite Reds and baseball player of all time. I still wear #11 to this day because of you. You are a great man and I couldn’t be any happier for you. You deserve it Barry. Thank You for your loyalty to the city of Cincy. You are a hero to many, including myself. Welcome to the Hall kid. Because of you, this…whole weekend….BELONGS to the Reds!

Thanks Mark for covering this. I was really hoping you would get the chance to go out there. Being that we are pretty similar in age, I have to assume that he was one of those guys you loved to watch play growing up. I mean I tried to do everything exactly how Barry did it as I grew up. I did and still do wear his number. You don’t find players at all in baseball these days that were the MAN that Barry Larkin was and is today. I would definitely like to see some pictures if you take any. Wish I could be there…..Have fun and safe travels Mark.

My dog is named Larkin.

Checking in from Brazil–Appreciate your coverage Mark! Congrats to number 11!
