Does Stubbs need a day off already or did he re-injure himself? Or is Dusty just being Dusty again?
Read my notebook item about Stubbs from yesterday and your answer will be there.
where?
Fielder and Braun’s little punching thing when they hit homers, Fielders walkoff where everyone fell to the ground. Morgan always ripping out his shirt. Morgan pointing at the Reds bullpen. Hart doing whatever it was he was doing at second. Ya, definitely don’t care about showing up the Brewers.
Curt
It is nice to finally be able throw out a decent line-up on get-away day while still giving some guys some rest.
Does Cairo still play for the Reds?
Curt
SShhhhhh.. Dusty may hear you…
Cairo is pretty much a player coach these day Curt..LOL

Time to move Phillips back to the 2 hole,
I completely disagree. The 2 hole is the safest spot in our order as long as Votto is hitting 3rd. You want to use that to help someone who struggles with Breaking balls ext.but can nail the fastball, exp Drew Stubbs is perfect for that right now. Votto could potentially make him an All-Star next year if Stubbs stays there until then.
hope for the sake of the Reds you are correct
Cozart:
Batting lst: .222/.263/.370/.634
Batting 2nd: .377/.431/.585/1.016
Stubbs:
Batting lst: .083/.132/.083/.215
Batting 2nd: .288/.358/.486/.844
I think the two hole is best suited for Cozart; he excells there. Move Phillips to lead off
and either move Bruce (Dusty wouldn’t do it), Frazier, Rolen or Ludwick to cleanup.
Bat Stubbs 7th and Hanigan 8th. With Hanigan (8th) and Phillips (1st) there is opportunity to have men on base at the top. Then trade for a certifiable LF that bats L and can leadoff with a OBP of .350 or better. Then again, we may well trade for SD’s LF that needs a new home!?*
I know, he’s truly a certifiable clean up hitter, isn’t he…
My only thing with Stubbs in the two hole is that it doesn’t maximize his basestealing abilities. If he gets on and steals, then they walk Votto, takes the bat right out of his hands. I’m fine with it, just find that it hurts us at times.
Curt
Thats a very good point. I got nothing there.
Excellent point. He unfortunately has failed at lead off so I think he needs to return to 7th; provide some occasional pop and possibly start a bottom order rally. If the guy were only mediocre in CF he wouldn’t be a Red.
I think Homer needs a change in venue; possibly a great dealing chit
in the future for a LF.
