*The current four game losing streak is tied for the Reds longest this season. The last 5-game losing streak was Aug. 14-19, 2010.
*The Elias Sports Bureau has an interesting nugget on the Reds hitting struggles. From the gamenotes:
“In each the last 3 games, the Reds recorded no more than 2 runs or 4 hits, their longest such streak since a 5-game stretch in August 1993.”
*Over the last three games, the Reds are 8-for-87 (.092) and 2-for-10 RISP with 4 runs scored.

Interesting stat on the .092 average the last 3 games, where Janish is 0-0, so there is no fall guy to blame… or maybe we can still blame him for not getting a hit? can’t we call up more “great” AAA players to save the day? hmm, for sure, its Dusty’s fault…. you know, bad karma in the lineup.. Curve ball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar and rum. He will come.
It’s interesting that they batted .200 with risp, twice their game ba. Good to see theiy’re concentrating with ducks on the pond. Ask Jobu to hold off till next year. I’ll contribute to the cigar and rum fund.
So, as it stands right now, 2012 starting rotation looks like this?
Cueto
Arroyo
Chapman
Bailey
Leake
I think you got four-fifths of it. But Chapman, even if he transitions to a starting role, which I have serious doubts about, will not be starting for the big club at season’s outset. Plug in Volquez or Wood. Willis will be gone, thank heaven.
What is Volquez status? Last I heard he had turned down a contract extension in spring training. Is he still under contract for next year?
