* This should be a nice matchup of starting pitchers tonight. Obviously, Cueto is as hot as it gets right now with a 1.63 ERA in nine starts and a 0.96 ERA in four June starts. David Price’s numbers haven’t been stupendous with an 8-6 record and 3.51 ERA, but he’s still a top-notch left-hander. LH hitters are batting .170 against him vs. .248 for RH batters.
*Brandon Phillips turned 30 years old today. It’s also a birthday for bench coach Chris Speier, who turned 61.
