*The Reds announced one roster move. They optioned RHP Chad Reineke to Triple-A Louisville and recalled RHP Daryl Thompson from Louisville. Thompson was up for one game on May 26, the day after the 19-inning game. He pitched 3 innings and allowed five runs, six hits and five walks.

*Edgar Renteria (back) and Scott Rolen (head cold) are both listed as available off of the bench on the lineup card.

*This season vs. Cubs starter Matt Garza, Brandon Phillips has the most success at 3-for-5 with one RBI.

*I will be mostly tied up tonight with the first round of the First-Year Player Draft. The Reds will have the 27th overall selection. The Draft starts tonight at 7 p.m. ET and can be viewed on television at MLB Network or on MLB.com on the Draft Central page.

Is the move to bring up Thompson another one game and gone deal? Because theyll have to make another move to get Volquez on the roster, unless they plan on sending Carlos Fisher back to AAA.

These silly moves are the sure signs of desperation and distraction, that is, to distract those of us who for some reason still care from the overwhelming reality that this is a small town team without the resources to encicle the wagons when the attack has been launched AND desperation because the scalps have been laid open and the fight is done.
