*Edinson Volquez will start a rehab assignment with a start on Saturday for Class A Lynchburg vs. Potomac. Volquez has not pitched in a game since June and had Tommy John surgery on Aug. 3, 2009. His pitch count will be in the range of 50.
*The Reds, losers of the last two games, have not lost three in a row since they dropped five-straight games April 14-18 at Florida and Pittsburgh.
*It’s raining cats and dogs right now (3:15 pm) but the forecast I saw said the showers would done by early evening. So that tells me there will be ball tonight.
