Reds have offer to Cabrera
The Reds remain in the running for free-agent shortstop Orlando Cabrera, and it appears there are only two other suitors — the Rockies and Nationals — a Major League source told MLB.com on Thursday night.
I’ve learned that Cincinnati has definitely made an offer to Cabrera. He is trying to decide between Cincinnati, Colorado and Washington.
Nothing was likely to be done tonight. Stay tuned.

Mark, thanks for the info regarding Tejada moving to 3B. I hadn’t realized he was at that stage of his career. Meanwhile, a caller phoned in to Sportstalk yesterday morning with the suggestion the Reds sign Felipe Lopez to play 2B and move Phillips to SS. But it’s not to be – I’m beginning to see that if my idea of Phillips playing SS was such a good one, the Reds would have pursued it.
